Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of Europe.
They have a fence several feet from the edge of the cliff….which no one seems very bothered about obeying.
Luís de Camões described Cabo da Roca as “Aqui, onde a terra se acaba e o mar começa…[Here, where the land ends and the sea begins…]”
From Cabo da Roca, you have unimpeded views of the sea and the coastline of Portugal. We were treated to some fairly spectacular views of the waves breaking.
To get to Cabo da Roca, you basically need to have a car. It didn’t seem particularly well serviced by public transport, and it is quite a ways away from the city center. There were some shuttle buses arranged by hostels, so you should check that out as well!
Have you been to Cabo da Roca?
