Shake Shack.

One of the places I really wanted to go in NYC with Rambo last year was Shake Shack. When I discovered there was not one, but four locations in DC, I made Piglet promise that we would get some Shake Shack. Conveniently, we ended up a couple of blocks away from their Union Station location right around lunchtime.

Piglet went for the ShackStack. Cheeseburger and a ’Shroom Burger (Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses) topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce.

IMG_1989 IMG_1990I went for the Smoke Shack. Single (or Double) cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce.

IMG_1988We also split a Black and White shake. Vanilla custard with fudge. What’s not to love??

The ShackStack was by far the better of the two. The gooey cheese that oozed out of the mushroom was superb. The Smoke Shack was good, a little spicy, but not much. For me it was a good burger, but the ShackStack was much more betterer. Piglet and I agreed that Shake Shack blew out the competition and created a great quality burger for pretty cheap.

Shake Shack has locations all over the USA (mainly in the Northeast) and random foreign places like Turkey and London. Check out their website to see if there’s one near you!

In an amazing turn of events, Shake Shack is coming to Atlanta! I, for one, will be there when they open the doors.
