I have been working loads at the taco shop without many days off, so I decided I deserved a treat. I splurged pretty hard on our hotel in New Orleans and it was so worth it! I chose Le Pavillon on Poydras. It was appealing mostly because of its location in the French Quarter and because they have free wifi. I’m sorry, I refuse to stay in a hotel that charges for wifi. Le Pavillon was easy stumblingwalking distance from Bourbon Street which is a huge plus!
This place was definitely a splurge for someone making minimum wage, but it was well worth it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The one drawback for us is that the fridge is electronically-enabled to inform the front desk if you moved anything. This meant that we couldn’t buy drinks at the corner store and put them in to keep them cold. That being said, there is the ice machine in the ice room that you have access. The beds were extremely comfortable with cloud-like pillows. It took us about 10, maybe 15, minutes to walk to Bourbon Street. It was very easy, basically make one turn outside of the hotel and stay on that street until you see bars! It also had easy access to restaurants and the Superdome. If you’re not familiar with New Orleans, it is VERY easy to find this place. If you’ve got the money to spare, I would recommend this place. It’s defo become my go-to place in New Orleans!
